Sharon Fellner is a medical technologist at Baton Rouge General Hospital. She earned her bachelor’s in Biology from Louisiana State University in 2007. Sharon pursued a Masters in Human Genetics from Tulane University in 2011. She then earned her Doctorate in Medicine from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in 2018.

Sharon decided to pursue laboratory science instead of a medical residency. In June 2019, she worked as a clinical documentation improvement specialist at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville, LA. She also earned her Certified Coding Associate certification from AHIMA in December 2019.
Sharon’s passion for teaching led her to work as an instructor at Delgado Community College. From August 2011 to May 2012, she taught Anatomy and Physiology lecture and lab classes, Microbiology lecture classes, Biology for non-science majors lecture classes, and Biology for science majors lab classes. She returned to Delgado Community College in January 2018 and taught anatomy and physiology until May.
Sharon is currently working as a medical technologist at Baton Rouge General Hospital. In the laboratory, she performs hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and serology tests. Sharon’s broad range of skills and expertise makes her a valuable medical community member. She is highly motivated and dedicated to her profession, always striving to learn and improve her skills.
